Fareeha Ummar
has a rich and diverse background in program management, particularly focused on gender equality. She has worked extensively with UN Women, providing technical advice and policy guidance in humanitarian and development contexts. At the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) in Pakistan, she advised senior management on gender mainstreaming and developed a gender policy for EQAA.
She also served as the Country Representative for Ockenden International, a UK-based INGO, and was a Principal Researcher for a study on “Decentralization and Women’s Rights” in South Asia commissioned by IDRC, Canada. She was also a core member of the pioneering group on gender and energy (Energia) in Pakistan, facilitating networking among organizations in the energy sector and gender experts.
